Championship Preview

Here is my latest look at this weekends' Championship fixtures...

The first game of the day on Saturday is at Pride Park where Nigel Clough’s improving Derby side take on play-off chasing Bristol City. League leaders Wolves, who grabbed only their second win in 12 in midweek, face a tricky trip to Yorkshire to play Sheffield Wednesday. Five points behind Wolves are Birmingham who are at home to struggling Southampton.

Three teams in the play-off positions, Reading, Sheffield United and Preston, face tough away games this weekend. Steve Coppell’s Royals are on the south coast against Plymouth while Preston and Sheff United are in London to play Crystal Palace and QPR respectively. Fifth placed Cardiff meanwhile are at home to relegation threatened Doncaster.

At the other end of the table rock bottom Charlton host another team in trouble, Watford, who are just two points outside the drop zone. Second bottom Norwich face a true relegation six pointer away at Blackpool, who are just two points ahead of the Canaries. Lurking just outside trouble is..
